History Of The Keyboard

The Q-W-E-R-T-Y keyboard layout was patented by the United States Patent
and Trademark Office in 1868 by Christopher Latham Sholes and brought
to market in 1873 by Remington Typewriter Company. **In the late 1970’s
Apple, Radio Shack, and Commodore started manufacturing computer
keyboards for their computers, paving the way for IBM’s 1981 mechanical
Personal Computer equipped with the Model M Keyboard.
Since 1981, keyboard designs expanded to different shapes, sizes and
colors such as the folding keyboard, waterproof/washable keyboard, virtual
touchscreen keyboard, and a laser keyboard. In addition to the Q-W-E-R-T-Y keyboard layout there are approximately 6 well
known computer keyboards:

● A-Z-E-R-T-Y (French-speaking countries across Europe & Africa)
Colemark
● D-V-O-R-A-K
● J-C-U-K-E-N (Russian Keyboard)
● Maltron
● Q-W-E-R-T-Z (Central Europe)

My patent pending keyboard layout reflects the 21st Century.
